Load Control for Water Heaters
We do install load control devices on your water heater to shut off during peak times. We currently allow a monthly credit for having a water heater under load control.
Lyon Rural Electric Cooperative currently has over 900 controllers on water heaters throughout our service area. These controllers are beneficial to both the member and your cooperative. By controlling water heaters we can control our peak demand on the Cooperative system, which helps stabilize our rates so additional generating facilities may be delayed in the future.
When you allow us to control your water heater, you receive a $3.00 credit on your electric bill each month. If you are interested in this program please contact the Lyon Rural Electric Cooperative if you are interested in having a controller installed.
